Stop Exercising

Stop Exercising

Stop exercising. That’s right I said it and I’m not afraid to own up to it. Wait a minute, why is a physical therapist telling you to STOP exercising? We are supposed to encourage you to exercise. Isn’t movement what we live for? OK, allow me to explain.

I believe the single biggest obstacle to long term exercise is the loss of motivation. What is the solution you ask?

Train rather than exercise. Whether your goal is to be able to play a sport or be able to play with your grandchildren a goal will keep you motivated. Create a goal that you are now going to train for. Write this goal down in a notebook. Then break it into 3 manageable pieces. Read your written goal out loud right before you begin your program. Then begin working toward that first step. When you meet that step move on to next. If you need help coming up with a goal or breaking it down into pieces feel free to contact me through joeruzich@synergyptw.com.

Hope this helps you be healthy, happy and fit!
